What is calibration?

Calibration is a documented comparison between Standard devices and devices to be measured with an unbroken chain of traceable standard devices. The accuracy of the standard device shall be much better than DUC (device under calibration).

unbroken chain of traceable standard devices means that standard devices shall be calibrated by higher accuracy devices as a comparison as well as linked by an unbroken chain of documented calibration.
